Winston-Salem, NC – March 21, 2013 –Lowe's Food Stores, Inc. and Acosta Sales and Marketing will host a media event featuring Mary Quinteros Tallouzi, from "Warriors Speak" on Monday, March 25th at 11:15am at Lowes Foods' Corporate office at 1381 Old Mill Circle, Suite 200 Winston-Salem, NC 27103.  Following a Presentation of the Colors by RJ Reynolds High School ROTC, Winston-Salem, NC and Ms. Tallouzi's presentation, a $53,000 award will be presented to The Wounded Warrior Project as a collaborative donation by Lowes Foods and Acosta.

The goal of "Warriors Speak" is to educate the American public on the struggles our nation's service members overcome through the extraordinary stories shared by wounded warriors and their caregivers.  Mary Quinteros Tallouzi's son, Staff Sergeant Daniel Tallouzi was wounded in a mortar attack in Iraq.  Quarter sized shrapnel crossed both hemispheres of his brain.  After enduring two years of hospital recovery, Daniel returned home and passed away on February 28, 2009.  During that time his mother was his primary caregiver and shares her story as an advocate, caregiver and parent.

Lowes Foods President, Steve Hall and Acosta Senior Business Manager, Murrell Stubbs will be on hand to present a check for $53,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project as a result of a partnership to honor our American fallen military and their families.
