Lowes Foods Opening New Leland Location -- Winston-Salem, NC - May 14, 2012

This Wednesday, May 16, 2012 Lowes Foods will open the doors on a brand new, unique grocery store in Leland, NC. The new store, located at 1152 East Cutlar Crossing, will be one of the most customer friendly and environmentally friendly buildings in the region. It will have a totally new design as well as exciting new products.

New lower shelving units and simplified signage allow for better visibility and easier shopping. The aisles are color-coded by category which allows shoppers to quickly identify what they need. Cut ‘n’ Ready vegetables, marinated meats, gourmet sandwiches, and fresh fried chicken are among the many selections designed to help customers get a meal on the table with less effort and less mess. Many of the time-saving ideas are displayed together at the front of the store. For a treat, the store also features frozen yogurt and single serve desserts.

Lowes Foods is committed to using energy-saving lighting, refrigeration, and heating systems, as well as using recycled materials throughout the store. The new Leland location will embrace the most environmentally friendly lighting practices which include the extensive use of skylights and strategically placed dimmable energy efficient lighting fixtures which are strategically placed throughout the store. Refrigeration units are equipped with night covers over the units, more efficient fan motors, a secondary refrigeration loop system that reduces the amount of the refrigeration charge, and special LED lighting. The store’s HVAC system is equipped with a variable speed air handler. All of these features result in a significant reduction in energy consumption.

The grand opening celebration will kick off on Wednesday, May 16th and will continue throughout the week. Below is a list of events that will include fun for the whole family! Events are scheduled to run between 9 am and 2 pm.
