YIELD: 6 servings
PREP TIME: 20 min
COOK TIME: approx. 45 min

2 large Honey crisp apples
¼ C light Brown sugar
2 tbsp. Honey
3 tbsp. butter
¼ tsp cinnamon
1 sheet of puff pastry (Wewalka authentic 13.2oz)

1. Preheat oven to 400
2. Peel and core the apple, cut into even thin slices (approx. 1/8 inch thick to ensure even cooking)
3. Combine sugar, honey, butter and cinnamon in a bowl and microwave until melted
4. Gently toss apples in mixture to coat
5. Cut the pastry sheet into 6 even squares, lightly grease a baking sheet and lay out the squares leaving a space between each
6. Shingle the apples in the center of each portion of pastry. Overlapping slightly in the center and leaving a ¼ inch of dough exposed around the outside (there may be some apples left over. It is acceptable to eat them. You don’t want to overcrowd the dough)
7. Place pastries in oven and cook for 30-45 min. check after 20 min and rotate the pan. Pastry is done when the edges become golden brown.
- These are best when served directly out of the oven. The apples can be tossed with the mixture a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator
- Remove the puff pastry just prior to making. It is best to work with it when it is cold
