FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lowes Foods invites area children to participate in a fun effort that will help Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. On Saturday, March 22nd, children can create unique soup bowl designs at the Community Table inside the Lowes Foods store at 2501 Lewisville Clemmons Road. The gathering lasts from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The bowls will be used at the annual Empty Bowls charity luncheon with food provided by top restaurants in the region. There is a minimum age requirement of 5 for children and parents must remain with their children during the event. Participants are encouraged to arrive promptly. This effort follows on the heels of two design sessions held for adults on Thursday, March 6th.
Lowes Foods has been a major contributor to the Food Bank, collecting nearly 20 million pounds of food since 1995 through bins at each store and the sale of pre-made bags of non-perishable items that are most needed by area Food Banks.
