FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lowes Foods will open a brand new store at 17230 US Highway 17 in Hampstead, NC. This is the most recent Lowes Foods store to open in the Carolinas and the first in the Topsail area. The new Lowes Foods design is based on extensive research which shows that consumers are always looking for more and better ways to save money, save time and support their communities.
Grand Opening events will take place at the store all day on Wednesday beginning at 7am. Grand Opening Day activities include Gift Card Giveaways, free samples and coupons, free newspapers, a visit from Ruby the Blue Rhino, wine and coffee samplings, the NCDA Big Cart and more! Events continuing through the week will include additional food and wine samplings, product/goody bag giveaways, a Wheel of Wow Prize Wheel, an Oreo Stacking Contest and a visit from the Lowes Foods Smart Shoppers. Special bonus offers will run for several coming weeks.
The entire Hampstead community is invited to a free community reception and ribbon cutting ceremony at the store on Tuesday, May 21st from 5 pm until 8 pm. Many food samplings, wine and beer tastings, free coupons and products and a brand new bike giveaway will be presented. The new store will have registers open for customers to make purchases that evening. The reception will also serve as the kick off to Lowes Foods 2013 Campaign to "Bag Childhood Hunger." This annual food drive helps to feed our neighbors in need right in our local communities. A $1,000 product donation will be presented to Livingstone Tabernacle Food Pantry, an affiliate of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC at Wilmington at the ceremony.
Lowes Foods features a number of signature products which are "the best of the best" in each department, including fried chicken, chicken grape salad, sweet tea, apple pie, pound cake, fresh ground sausage, fresh meat starter kits and more. These ready-made products help customers save time in the kitchen. Many products available in the store will be sourced locally, allowing a lower cost of distribution and fresher products for the customer while supporting other North Carolina based businesses.
The new store will offer the exclusive Lowes Foods to Go personal shopping service to customers. Lowes Foods to Go shopping orders are placed either on-line or by telephone and is offered six days per week for a nominal per shop fee of $4.95. Discounted monthly and annual rates are also available. Lowes Foods to Go is just one more way Lowes Foods strives to give customers more time for what really matters! More information can be found at www.lowesfoodstogo.com or by calling 888.537.8646.
Also available to its valued customers, Lowes Foods offers Gas Rewards and NuVal® nutritional scoring. Gas rewards is a partnership with WilcoHess that allows customers to earn 5¢ off per gallon of gas for every $100 they spend in groceries at Lowes Foods. These discounts are also available right on site in Hampstead where the store features a fuel location. NuVal® is a nutritional scoring system that rates foods from one to one hundred based on their nutritional content. This number is displayed on the product's shelf tag so that customers can tell the overall nutrition of an item at a glance.
On top of all of the great ways to save, Lowes Foods offers hometown customer service with friendly, familiar faces to serve customers. Kirby Bolin, Store Manager, has lived in the Pender County area for a number of years and is excited about the opportunity for both he and his staff to serve our community neighbors. The company looks forward to playing an active philanthropic role in the Hampstead community focusing on programs that help feed the hungry and educate our youth.
