Spring offers us opportunities for a new start. Have you ever really looked at your shopping cart and thought about how to make it more healthful? If not, here are a few tricks of the trade that may help with your new start for spring! Also, take a look at our Recipe Archive for creative and delicious homemade recipes you and your family can make and eat at home. Be sure to look for the for your healthiest choices.

Your Spring Shopping Cart

* Stock up on fresh, green veggies such as asparagus, artichokes, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, green beans, Brussels Sprouts and kale

* Make seafood a staple by trying salmon, shrimp, catfish or mahi mahi

* Become a whole grain fanatic by choosing whole wheat pita bread, quick brown rice, whole wheat spaghetti and oatmeal cereal

* Think your drink and try 1% milk, soymilk or 100% fruit juice

* Keep eggs in mind as a wholesome breakfast, snack or meal maker - scramble them, hard boil them or create an omelet with yummy filling
