Donate to Friends in Need

We are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the annual Friends Feeding Friends food drive to help our neighbors have access to food. We have raised over 20 million pounds of food to date!

“Lowes Foods is the local grocer that lives out its promise to help bring the community back to the table through our strong ties with local farms and suppliers, and our commitment to our neighbors,” said Tim Lowe, our President. “Our Friends Feeding Friends food drive helps ensure that our neighbors have good food to eat, while also bringing our community together to support one another.”

Our Friends Feeding Friends program is one of the largest food drives in the Carolinas and has provided more than 16 million meals to date. You may participate in the program through purchasing pre-packaged donation bags of non-perishable Lowes Foods items, buying and giving non-perishable food items to in-store donation bins, or providing cash donations.

You can donate to the food drive at any Lowes Foods store across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia now through December 31, 2024. Each $8.99 purchase includes (7) Lowes Foods products. You can also donate a $4.99 bag with (4) Lowes Foods products or make a $10 cash donation.

This year our hosts will not package each bag, instead, we'll use ornaments to represent each purchase/donation. Local food banks will collect cases of donated items rather than pre-packaged bags to improve their efficiency in serving those in need.

We are incredibly grateful for our guests and vendors, whose generosity has helped make Friends Feeding Friends successful each year. Their ongoing support over the past 30 years has allowed us to work together to make a real difference in the lives of our guests and local communities.

Thank you for your support during the 2024 Friends Feeding Friends campaign! We are so thankful for the support from our communities that make this program possible!
